You quickly find out that after a diaper change, feeding, a burb and some spit-up and maybe a passing of gas that babies are still not happy. This makes for a long day and tired parents. It is very frustrating when you try all the right things to get Will to stop fussing and crying, but he still has something there that is making him very unhappy. You begin questioning your own skills and knowledge of babies and boy will that drive you crazy. As a first time mom, this is not a healthy thing to do.
So will he poop today – god only knows, but I think it will make him feel a lot better.

I found that with our first child, he was always gassy. We did a lot of mylicon drops – which helped but he still seemed uncomfortable a lot of the time. At a certain point, I decided to try to see if it was something I was eating that was causing him problems. After eliminating a lot of dairy from my diet, he seemed less gassy. So, I went a few months without drinking milk, eating ice cream, cutting down on cheese, etc. It wasn’t easy – but it was worth it! I know it’s so hard when you can’t seem to help them get comfortable. I hope it gets better for all of you soon!

For the record, Willpower had a spectacular poop last night at about 9 PM (right after his bath, of course), and then proceeded to stay awake most of the evening.
Scratch constipation off the list of things that might be keeping him awake.
